The Chosen One(Director's Cut)

interesting horror art film -- but you can get it cheaper
First off, if you want this film, you can get it cheaper as part of the Extreme Zombies 8 Movie Collection.

THE CHOSEN ONE's story is choppy and episodic, but here's the rough outline: A zombie bites a young wife. As a result, she gives birth to a vampire baby. Her husband gives the baby to a mad scientist who wants to study its vampire blood. Trouble ensues as the mad scientist (who likes to do open heart surgery on live patients) tries to raise the vampire baby.

THE CHOSEN ONE has beautiful black & white photography, and mostly good acting.

It's an odd, horror-art film. Mostly original, though similar to Nadja, another artsy, black & white, horror-art film. But Nadja often bores, whereas THE CHOSEN ONE only has a few boring patches...

All I can say is WOW!
This movie ended up being totally different than what I expected, and I couldn't be more pleased. The performances, the cinematography, the beautiful black and white images...it's a horror movie that someone with a PHD can really get behind. WATCH THIS FILM!

An incredible mix of genres
The Chosen One may look like an arty, black and white, French New Wave film, but it totally embraces all of the great b-movie horror conventions that I love. It's a real testament to the filmmakers that they're able to mix the two genres and make something wholly original and fun to watch.
